Christian DatingOne of the most important things to remember about Christian Dating, either online or through a Christian Dating service, is that all dating outlets provide the same kind of service, which is meeting compatible people with a minimum of fuss and bother. The main way that Christian Dating is different from commercial or secular dating services is that you are narrowing the pool of people that you meet to only include other people of faith. This can be a great time saver if you’re not interested in meeting people who don’t embrace the same type of religious faith that you have embraced in your own life. I think I’m right in assuming that Christians expect other Christians to conduct themselves in an honest, honorable way in all their dealings with others. Christians shouldn’t lie, cheat, steal, or be unfaithful to their mates. So if you’re married and looking to play around, you should forget Christian dating sites. Most Christians won’t put up with a liar or a cheater. So if you’re planning on posting a photo of yourself on a Christian Dating site or through a service, be sure that your photo accurately reflects what you look like. Don’t enhance your looks by using a program like Photoshop because when you finally meet someone, they may be disappointed by the real you and be turned off to getting to know you better. Also, be sure that your photos focus on you and not your pets. Definitely don’t post a photo of you with your ex-, that’s a complete turn-off. For safety’s sake, don’t use your real name in your post, and never give out your address and phone number to strangers. If you do meet someone online or through a Christian Dating service, be sure to meet at a neutral location, preferably a public place with lots of other people around. When you are making that all-important first meeting, be sure that you have told a friend or family member where you are going and the name of the person you are meeting. Just because someone has been checked out by a Christian Dating service or you think they share similar religious values, it doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t take certain basic precautions, no matter who you’re meeting. Just because someone claims to be a Christian, it doesn’t mean they’re always being honest or sincere, or that they aren’t capable of undesirable behavior. Even Christians have prison records, or can be spousal abusers. Christians have just same rates of divorce, alcoholism and spousal abuse as the rest of the population. So, by all means, try a Christian Dating service, but be sure to watch your back. Because these days, you just never know who you’ll meet, even from good sources. Happy dating, and have fun.
